Brass normally closed solenoid valves are designed to shut off and start the flow of diesel, oil, air and water. When the internal coil is energised the valve is activated and opens to allow the liquid to flow through. These are designed to be used on applications where the fluid flow isn’t constant and it only needs to be released on occasions. The 230v and 24v versions are available in sizes between ½” and 1”.

Product Description
About this product

This Brass Solenoid Valve is a direct acting valve, meaning that no pressure needs to be applied to operate, for a range of fluids including fuels, oils and water. As a normally closed solenoid valve, until the valve is activated the fluid flow is shut off. When the electrical current that runs through the coil inside the valve is energised, the valve opens and allows the flow of liquid through the pipework.

This brass solenoid valve is therefore designed for applications where fluid only needs to be released on occasions, such as to feed a generator with diesel from the back up storage tank. It could also be wired into a pump ensuring that fuel only enters the pipework from the tank when the pump is turned on.

Installation Requirements

As there are guidelines in place to minimise the risk of oil leaks, there are statutory requirements that
tanks or appliances used for the storage and access of oils are installed by a suitably competent
person and in accordance with the manufacturer’s installation and maintenance instructions.

Where electrical connections are essential with an installation, these must be undertaken by a
qualified electrician.

Any poor installation or not by someone who is suitably qualified could contribute to invalidating any
warranties held on a product.

Where such an installation is required, we strongly recommend that arrangements with a third party are
not made for the installation until products have been received. We aim to provide realistic delivery dates,
but delays are often the result of factors beyond our control (weather, traffic jams) and hence we cannot
be held liable for additional installation charges caused by any delays in you receiving the products

As Tanksrus have a suitably qualified installation team, if our installation is employed then it may be
easier to finalise a mutually convenient installation upon delivery.

Should at any point you feel the need to complain, then please contact Tanksrus via 01469 531229
so we can address your concerns accordingly.
