- Protect it from contamination: Dirt, fuel, or water will compromise AdBlue immediately. Use sealed dispensing systems and only approved containers.
- Avoid unnecessary exposure: Do not leave drums or canisters outside unprotected. Keep them dry, shaded, and away from direct sunlight and temperature extremes.
Using AdBlue Safely in Cold Weather
Do not apply external heat sources (such as open flames or space heaters) to thaw frozen AdBlue. Let it warm naturally or rely on heated storage.
- Always use the correct dispensing equipment to avoid contamination.
- Check levels earlier than usual in winter, as slower flow or freezing can mask low stock.
- Inspect pumps and pipework for frost damage, leaks, or stiff components.
